Changes In The Candy Vending Scenario

In view of the changes occurring in the candy vending segment, Planet Antares vending operators have been forced to review their plans of the vending business due to changes in key supplier’s programs.

Already, vending operators have suffered one round of price increases, only to be faced with another one now.

With such price hike, vending operators have been forced to rethink their buying plans for candy products. Most of them believe that they cannot raise prices more than they already have, due to the competitive pressure. However, some of the vending operators have considered larger size bars to allow them to provide greater value for a higher price.

In spite of being unsure, most vending operators agree that there could be more changes to the candy bar offerings in future since the introduction of the glass front Planet Antares snack/ candy vending machines.

Some of the vending operators are waiting for price points to go up just a little more before they start offering large sized candy in their vending machines. An alternative is to reduce sale of candy in your vending machines by decreasing the candy facings from two shelves to one and a half. If candy is not an important, popular and profitable product sold by you, this can work well for your vending business.

Meanwhile, some additional cost will be involved in changing candy spirals to larger snack spirals. In the long term, this cost will be worthwhile for your Planet Antares vending business. At the same time, some snack companies and suppliers are willing to offer incentives in exchange for guaranteed placements.

In the long run, you will find that your profitability will not be compromised with higher priced items. Perhaps a few customers will complain about the rising prices of products. However, a lot of vending operators have found the number of such customers to be less than expected indicating a positive change in customer response towards rising prices.

All these changes will surely take time to find acceptance with customers who are used to the previous prices of candy. Still, large sized candy is finding popularity and huge market share and shows potential for great growth and profitability.

By adapting promptly to this trend, your vending business will definitely generate higher returns and more sales.
